Physical health is the number one problem in poor children in the United States. Compared to non poor children, physical health is the number one indicator of health outcome. Physical health problems range from low birth weight and infant mortality, lead poisoning, and growth stunting. Low birth weight increases the chances physical and emotional problems that may stricken them into adolescence and adulthood. Low birth weight is a major key factor for infant mortality and is also a major indicator of children's well being.
